The 25 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have been barred by the High Court in Port Harcourt from standing as members.
Justice Charles N. Wali who issued the order on Friday, May 10, also barred the lawmakers from meeting/sitting at the Quarters Auditorium on Aba Road, Port Harcourt, or anywhere else or is being done or said to be done.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Martin Amaewhule and 25 other lawmakers were found to be loyal to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike. Remember that the height of the relationship between Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, the lawmakers fell to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Judge Wali said; –
The order was approved for the prohibition of the accused persons 1 to 25 from barricading and presenting themselves as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and/or staying at the Assembly Quarters Auditorium on Aba road, Port Harcourt and other projects If legal business is being conducted. in the Rivers State House of Assembly, his legislative seat has been declared vacant pending the hearing and removal of the notice motion.
A temporary injunction is issued restraining defendants 26 to 28 from working, contacting, receiving judgments, writing laws, and cooperating with defendants 1 to 25 on their status as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and their seats in the House. of confirmed Representatives from 2023 Beginning on December 13, 2019, pending the hearing and decision of the notice motion. – It is further ordered that this order, notice and written motion and other proceedings in this case be served on the first to twenty-five defendants/defendants by other such means within seven (7) days. from date: Aba , Port Harcourt Road near the entrance of the State House of Assembly in Rivers and found the service to be good and fair.
