Shaquille O'Neal attacked NBA Hall of Famer and host Shannon Sharpe, calling him "jealous" of Nikola Jokic.
The drama began after the "Inside the NBA" crew presented Jokic with the league's Most Valuable Player award during Wednesday's episode. During the interview, Shaq called the Nuggets superstar the best player in the league, but he thinks Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should win the award this season. In response to Shaq's comments on the Chad Johnson and Gilbert Arenas "Nightcap" podcast, Sharp said the NBA star was jealous of Jokic's credentials.
He said;
"Shaq deserves five MVPs. He looks at guys like Nikola Jokic, who wasn't as dominant as he was but three MVPs in four years.
Since you were great in the past, they talked about you as a great basketball player, the GOAT, and Shaq was never mentioned. "I think there's a part of him that's jealous of that, and it's hard for me to talk to someone who's the GOAT and the MVP.
If Shaq has my work ethic, he's going to get 40,000 points." Shaq took offense to Sharpe's words, responding on Instagram and accusing him of cheating because he was only protecting SGA. Things take a turn for the worse when Shaq says that Shannon is very jealous of him.
He said;
Don't forget that I know what you have done to get to where you are now. I'm jealous, and so are you. I know you try to stay relevant by chatting on your podcast... 4 rings three times MVP Top 50 and top 75. And honestly, all the new success you've had , you are always under my guidance. Shaq also said that he has more money and is better in every way.
Sharp replied:
"He can deny it all. Yes, you have more money, yes you are more famous than me, yes you are more famous than me, you have more money than me, But nobody work.
